Tickets are now on sale for the Broadway revival of La Cage aux Folles, starring Kelsey Grammer and Douglas Hodge. The eye-popping show features music and lyrics by Jerry Herman, a book by Harvey Fierstein, direction by Terry Johnson and choreography by Lynne Page. Performances begin at the Longacre Theatre on April 6 with opening night set for April 18, 2010.
In La Cage aux Folles, Georges (Grammer) is the suave owner of a glitzy drag club on the French Riviera. Partnered romantically with his high-strung star performer, Albin (Hodge), the couple lives a charmed life—until Georges’ son Jean-Michel announces his engagement to the daughter of a conservative right-wing politician who’s coming to dinner.
Joining Grammer and Hodge in the cast of La Cage aux Folles are Robin de Jesus as Jacob, A.J. Shively as Jean-Michel, Fred Applegate as Edouard Dindon/M. Renaud, Veanne Cox as Mme. Dindon/Mme. Renaud, Elena Shaddow as Anne, Christine Andreas as Jacqueline, Chris Hoch as Francis, Heather Lindell as Colette, Bill Nolte as Tabarro and David Nathan Perlow as Etienne. The Cagelles will be played by Nick Adams, Nicholas Cunningham, Sean Patrick Doyle, Yurel Echezarreta, Terry Lavell and Logan Kesla.
